would depend on where the bird was racing into, some birds win in very unfavourable positions against the wind and against all the odds , i would be looking into that first before i looked at the amount of birdage   ;)

Once again as i said in my last post same circumstances.This again could be interpreted in different ways 10,000 birds in a 500ml race tail wind doing 2,000ypm ,or 500 birds in a head wind 800 ypm.Which one do you want now ?

to interested in pedigrees and birdage and dont pay enough attention to the proper facts about the pigeon ;)

i would love to compete against thousands of birds but this is 2009 and i am youngest member of my club at a mere 47 years old , most guys in the fed are aged 60 to 70 and dont drive , if they joined another fed how would they cope with further travel  for combine races ( at least 4 club members arrive with wheelbarrows )

that great fred but look at loads of clubs around you there on there knees now. E D C used to send 12000 birds not far from you lucky if they can muster a few thousand nowadays so if thats going up you must be irish ;D ;D

that was just an example, could  name anyclub in N I  and they are all drastically smaller than they were say 10 years ago and have been for the last 20 years, wake up smell the coffee m8 ;D ;D

so what u saying then we should all just pack it in and give up now then , why dont u do something about it go out and try and get new members go to schools  go to youth clubs there lots of pep out of work now with nothing to do all racing birds would be grate for them ,,
