mark croker Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 We all agree that it cost too much, as at the end of the day it’s just a answer machine Wot I suggest is that when the club sec is informed they record it on the machine of a cheap mobile, then it cost 10p instead of 1.50
pjc Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 lib line was set up to make it easy for members to check libs but it also paid money back to the federations. Most sec's still ring members when they get a lib time but some members get impatient and just keep ringing lib line just incase the sec has forgotten to ring them!
mark croker Posted September 19, 2009 Author Report Posted September 19, 2009 true i do it myself, and the fed sec texts me when they are up
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Lib line is a waste of money but we all phone it at some point
ALF Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 I've not phoned the libline for years and never will again Last time i phoned there was a long message about when the baskets would be delivered to the clubs so after listening to that before the lib news i decided there then i would'nt be calling it again as it's meant to be for lib news not for basket delivery times...
Ian McKay Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 I ran it this year it is totally a waste of time The idea is good but in practice it does not work but makes money for the BHW and the Fed /Club The other problem each time you update it wipes the previous ones off. I took this up with the organisors who cannot resolve it I cannot believe in this day of age with clocks that phone you when you have timed a bird, Text messages to any part of the world, mobile phones that are as good as your computer that this cannot be sorted out but it might cost money!! The BHW libline is cheap and profitable it cost 1p per second I have never phoned lib line and never will our club secretary phones when birds are up if he gets told :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/
just ask me Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 have to say it is expensive no doubt i think its dead handy though for people that working on weekends and need the info quick its very useful
JADE Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 I think it is useful for fanciers to find out when neighbouring feds are liberated or if messages are put on if your own lib is delayed. I you think it is too expensive dont use it. I f it makes money fro the bhw so what they are a business and it makes a few bob for the fed then surely thats a good thing. The snfc libline this year was rubbish but a lot was to do with members not phoning in early arrivals.
