Alen Gibb Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Our birds don't get the chances of some of you guys - our 9 race YB programme totals 860 miles to me! Don't know if that's a good or bad thing but I would like my YBs to have a bit more time on the wing.
kirky Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 some feds go for the soft option with ybs as thay want the birdage every week, but in the long run are thay doing the birds any favours ?
Guest mick bowler Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Mine had 6 x 35 mile tosses, 18 x 56 miles, 5 x 80 miles and a race at 80 miles. They did have a few 20-25 mile tosses but never noted them in my diary.
Guest BRYANBROCK Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 iam surprised that you got birds left they must have been nackered all that training at that distances :-/ :-/ :-/ if you keep on training like that you will burn them out i find more short trainers benificial ;)
ritchie1 Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 20 birds done the full race program 1100 miles and 18 flown 750 miles very happy with the birds this year

Guest bakes Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 didnt start up till more or less start of yb season missed come back race had my yb's 10 x 10 miles 10 x 20miles 10 x 30 miles 20x 50 miles they be doing the full program next season all being well all the best.

A 20-25 mile toss to me is not even as far as the next member in my club!! Did not do them much harm only one race, won by 50+ ypm and had 5 together, flying 12 mile further and 30 miles west of the rest of the club.
