Guest strapper Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 on p/chat there is a thread going discussing rings...and their prices... it seems the nwhu are the cheapest rings at 15p a ring...how does another organisation increase that to over 20-25p a ring? surely most of these rings come from the same place so why so high if the nwhu are making on the 15p they charge. what are your thoughts. i know there needs to be funding but at what cost! :-/

BLACK W F Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 jesus thats a lot would really sicken the bird that lives at the end hoose might just doo that to wind her up let them out when she having a BQ last time she complained to me not saying first word but secound was OFF but naw 60 will do me thats plenty well might have 80
Guest IB Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Seems they all come from mainland Europe nowadays, 'no British makers no more', and of course they sell them in euros and we buy them in GBP. Couple of years ago euro = 60p. Today euro is almost par £1. So Organisations that depend on ring sales as their main income will need to increase prices to maintain margins thanks to the poor £.
OLDYELLOW Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 cant argue at a few pence for rings that in effect last the birds lifetime and if the price is too high then surely there wouldnt be so many sold each year
Lightning McQueen Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 i think the difference with the NWHU and the GB rings is basically down to overheads?
Tony C Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Overheads as in .............hotel rooms with four poster beds and chandeliers Blackpool weekend. ;D

blaz Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 buy less and when you need more ask a mate
just ask me Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 if the birds are are not the price of the ring why breed them in the first place not being smart here but u feed the parents all year breed from them vacanite feeding medication training and on and on as we pigeon lovers know if they are worth all this why worry about the price of a ring
Lightning McQueen Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 buy less and when you need more ask a mate lol, i like it
