Does your loft HAVE to be 9" of the ground. The shed I have converted is quite tall and I'm a bit worried the loft will look a bit odd being so tall ?

My big loft is 18in off the ground and my wee loft 10in at the front just make sure your loft is'nt right on the ground in case of vermin nesting under it ;)

I was thinking 4 or 5 " max so I can see whats underneath and air can flow.  :-/

It doesn't have to be off the griound at all but should be, 12 inches is good to let the terriers get under and enough room to set rat traps if needed.  Rememeber that this can add hieght to the overall loft though and its where council regs might come in.

2 of mine are 12 inches off the ground so the dog can get under it the lil shed is on railway sleepers but the ground is hollowed out underneath so when it rains it fills with water but the loft stays dry vermin wont nest in places that will flood .

set your loft up as high as you can never place it on the ground let the wind blow under it that will help to dry it out on cold wet rainy days mack sure it is wired off so the cats dont get under it and disturb your pigeons good luck
