THE RPRA TOLD HIM TO GIVE THE BIRD BACK  TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND FOR GET IT. :-/

There you go.......isn't that the way we like to see our governing body react. If this is true, they're nothing more than a joke.

A letter of complaint was sent into the region regarding their decision but it was agreed by the committee that each individual case should be considered on merit and the evidence submitted.

No club threw the bird out it was when he put the bird forward for a Region award it was them who found out when they checked the bird.

All clubs should verify any birds winning prize card/money before anything is paid out/awarded!

How can you race a stray and not know, I mean if you are entering it for an RPRA award you obviously think highly of the bird, surely you would check the breeding of it to try and breed more champs like it, then u would realise you didnt breed it and it was a stray ?????????

the club wouldn't have thrown it out if they didn't check who it belonged to!

Wouldnt think many clubs would do that Phil, but I agree it is something that needs to be done,I have checked a section winner before  in the NFC,but that wasnt actually checking if the ring belonged to the guy, just verifying the bird at his loft.

I've done the same with NFC and CSCFC winners but as you say you just check the bird is at the correct location etc but its down to the organisation to check ownership with the union. All clubs have the provision to check ring numbers but as you say, very few bother!

perhaps they should check the winning bird before it wins  :P :P :P :P :P

but it wouldnt be a winning bird then  :o  and that means you would have to check every bird sent ;) ;)
