leighton1984 Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 This cock was lost on 40 mile toss last year and come back 2 weeks ago. i looked him over and checked is droppings then his crop for canker all clear He has brilliant pink skin only thing was he smelt a bit like he been in a field. Never had one come back so clean and in top health make you think how he lasted so long with the bad winter we have had. Have a funny feeling about this bird will he be a winner or not time will tell.

Guest mick bowler Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 usually any that been fielding are sun bleached or stained, but i'd say he been in somewhere and only one (or maybe 2) places for him!
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 mine will be given a chance as ive had birds returned before that have turned out winners

Guest bakes Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 one day last year i was up my grandad loft and this pigeon just coming flying over and folded up .. pitched in the loft and just stood there i ran down to my grandad to tell him and he comes up to see its a bird his lost at training as a yound bird come backk after all that time nearly had him in tears no off one lad in club he had a bad training toss begining of last season he only had a few oldbirds left to race the oldbird program he sent 5 to saintes birds was libbed worked out a good time that he should start getting birds back he went down to lofts was having a brew when he seen 5 birds come like a rocket across the fields that backs onto his house he said get on 5 on a drop got to be a good race only to find out that these 5 that dropped together was the 5 he lost at the bad training toss he had ;D ;D

leighton1984 Posted March 14, 2010 Author Report Posted March 14, 2010 He has been living wild the smell is the give away and the name and address ring was still on. I had him in my hands and he went mad trying to get away then i looked up and they was a big hawk tuck a picture of it was very high.
leighton1984 Posted March 14, 2010 Author Report Posted March 14, 2010 any one take a guess from the shape what type of hawk it was.
just ask me Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 useally the shape of the tail helps hard too see to be honest
Guest bakes Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 the size of it could be buzzard or goshawk but cant really see it very well shaped more like a goshawk or hen sparrowhawk.
leighton1984 Posted March 14, 2010 Author Report Posted March 14, 2010 had a look online and it looked more like a goshawk was very big it flicked it wings a lot when it was moving in the air
