I went to the loft about half an hour ago to lock up for the night and had to move one of the birds that likes to roost in the trap. When I picked him up he bite me and carried on after I sat him on a perch, Is this normal ? for a YB none of my other birds have done it.  :-/

yes mate, i play about with the young birds when theyve been fed and back on there perches, they all fight you back then when its time to train them you just pick 2 at a time of the perches as they just stand there ;)

I have a dominant cock <my pet> he does the same if hes fighting with another bird and u put ur hand inbetween them to seperate them he sets about your hand. Its nothing to worry about your not likely to loose a finger  ;D

its easy to get them all like it , just spend time with them , i play with mine every nite when i shut the loft up at first they dont have a go but they soon will esp if you feed them out of your hand they just see you as one of them and part of the loft , i also tease my widowhood cocks by placeing a pinch of linseed in each box after there feed then i will cover it with my hand till they fight with my hand lol
