Guest Owen Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 March the 21st (The Spring Equanox) is the official day when the youngsters should be put onto darkness. This is the day when the day and night length are the same.

Guest kevin b Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Ventilation is more important than pitch black, You will always get a couple who will drop a flight but once you have them in a darkened loft they will hold the rest for most of the season. Better to have healthy birds with a couple of dropped flights than sick birds with full wings IMO. Kevin
