Can anyone tell me what the peregrine situation in Fife is? A friend is considering buying a couple of pigeons as pets. They life near the sea.

 

where in fife dear , theres perigrines at GUARDBRIDGE PAPERMILL,ARNCROACH NR ANSTRUTHER AT THE QUARRY , METHIL AT RGC ON THE PYLONS THERE,  THE WEST LOMOND HAS THEM AS WELL AND KENNOWAY QUARRY ,

Thanks guys. They are a in a wee town called Burntisland  ???

 

Yes there is the binns to the west of the town a range of steep quarry type rocks and vegetation , I have never heard of any attacks there but there used to be a nest there at

one time , burntisland lies in the Firth of Forth just north of the the Forth bridge the person to ask would be Square Peg on this site archie knows the burntisland guys .

Peregrines are reported to be at mossmoran, just over the back from Burntisland. I,ve not witnessed any sightings since i moved to Lochgelly, touch dougies head, a mean wood lol

Not at all mate i wouldnt spread malicious gossip, not in my nature. Anyway ya rat it was you that confirmed it lol why are you no in yer bed, you need aw the beauty sleep that yi can git.

I use Burntisland for training a lot, and had no problems, if you stand in the psrk; whear the fair is this is where i lib, and there are a bit of cliffs across from here and i have often seen the sparro hawks there, ok why lib there, my view is the hawks are all over now, i dont think there is anywhere clear of them, and if not in your town, they are not far away, its part of pigeon life now having to put up with them, . i try to let my birds out at different times of the day as hawks get to know if you let them out at the same time, let them out at different times, and not too early when hawks are looking for breakfast or late when looking for supper.

also peregines on grangemouth oil refinery, kinniel oil refinery, long annet power station, cockenzie power station,fourth rail bridge, mossmoran petro-chemical plant, nightmare :(
