Guest monkeynuts71 Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 last night on the local news, there was somebody living on the edge of exmoor who was trapping and killing magpies as this was the cause of all the songbirds dissapearing there seemed to be no mention of sparrowhawks ;)

peterpau Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Tiz true magpies can be a pain in the arris but then so are squirrels. I caught 5 maggies last year after seeing one on the trap.
pjc Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 is it legal to kill magpies??? Yes it is. The restriction was lifted years ago. They do take baby birds and eggs and will spoof your youngsters if out on the loft and have a nest near by!

billy wilson Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 yes magpies are classed as vermon they take eggs from the nests and also eat the youngsters if there is anything killed on the road they will eat the carcas as well
