Guest bakes Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 was cleaning my youngbirds out early this morning all 6 was up flying around the loft and went into my house to refill the water up when my neighbour shouted me saying theres a pergrine around stood on my conservatry roof and seen the bloody pergrine turn and went straight through my birds 2 are back sitting on next doors shed roof very nervous and the other 4 birds are no were to be seen last thing i seen was the birds flying south with the pergrine up there *expletive removed* absolutly gutted the birds havent had a toss yet just been flying around the garden and house

Not much else you can do. I feel for you, as you have just started, whereas I have had many, many years in the sport. I hope you get them back

DAVIDL Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 hope you get them back mate,i know what its like .......ive had the same. ive learned to be always on guard watching all the time for them......try taking your water over in a bucket next time so you dont have to go away from the loft.....

Guest bakes Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 got 2 of my young cocks on the roof 3 doors up not budging tried everythink whistling shaking tin they dont seem bothered seen my white and grey hen fly over same again when she is on the roofs dont seem bothered ive shut the single bird up in the nestbox and opened the trap and both doors in case they disside they come back

Guest bakes Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 hoping they all come back safe in the morning, haven't had any sign of percy round me thankfully, maybe my two babies scare them off!! never say never mate when i was training a few lads birds they was getting hit hard by them didnt think nothink off it until i seen the pergrine climb and fold and dropped straight threw my youngbirds i was more thinking off the female sparrow hawk as a few off the garden birds i feed have been hit by them alot but you never no mate. the pergrine come out of no were and as soon as it climbed and drop your hopes and dreams are in seconds of the pergrines hands
