i be waiting dont you worry next time i see it i no who owns the cat now and were it lives just had a go at the owner he didnt no what to say i told him are you going to repay the loss of my bird and what about the others that have been injured from your cat he smiled and laughed misses just had to grab me as i was going to jump fence and showing him how funny i find this bad enough looseing birds to pob now this to someone so called pet that dont give a dam about the cat not happy

I had problems with cats, I was advised that the cat owner is responsible for any damage or loss.

I would write out a bill to the value to the loss and damage and bill them, with the threat for small claims court if they don't pay up

Like the little girl crying so sadly and folorn. When the lady next enquired why she pointed a large mound in the garden and said ' I've just had to buy my canary'!

'But that seems a large hole you must have have dug for a canary'!

'That's because he's still inside you ef ... fing cat'! :o

instead of the money, why not ask the owner to hand over the cat and watch if he wants to while you give the cat a dunk in a water butt outside the loft. the cat will associate the loft with the dunking and the owner will know you arent going to take matters into your own hands. Dont forget, if this cat disappears in mysterious circumstances, what's stopping the owner going out and buying 5 more to annoy you???

Just a thought mate

All the best

Wouldn't have this happen to anyone. I know the surviving birds have been through a lot, but check every one of them tonight for any sign of a wound. Cats mouth and claws are full of bacteria, and any wound you discover will need drenched with neat antiseptic.

Hi Klaus

Glad things are looking on the up, but I wouldnt keep them in for more than a few days. Years back I accidently left the hut door wide open and a fox went in. I tried to get them back out and in ASAP. Maybe leave it until Saturday until you can be out with them  :-/

Hi Klaus, the £100 wil buy a nice electric fence mate, that should keep the cat away,it's tasted blood and will be back for more.

Good luck mate .

Lindsay.

Realism that. Think it ought to become compulsury 'Electric Fencing'.

Are really first class and helpful. Next day delivery.

Must get mine back up soon.... soon be on 24 / 7 I guess for just £6 running costs per year!

Was / am / might be doing a new roof etc. and was hoping it'd would have been done by now. Hence not set it up... only had the birds out for a couple of times till now.

it's true that accidents happen, when i started up i fed the birds in the morning, went to work forgetting to lock the door behind me. Wind blew the door open and my dog got in, when i got home i had one bird left!!! all the others dead, the dog was so proud of his 'good' work! the oe bird is still traumatised 2 years later

Feel for you both and highlights to everyone the need to be alert at all times. Remember as a kid forgetting to shut the birds in for the night and next morning, carnage. I couldn't do my schoolwork that day as I couldn't see for tears and kept getting flashbacks of the torn birds so keep an eye on yer good lady and don't let her suffer too long. At least you have a descent neighbour there Bakes as I think some could have been really awkward and made life hell for you and the birds. At least they appear to be pro pigeons so I would nurture that mate. The Idea someone suggested re getting the neighbour round with the cat and giving it a good dunk in deep water next to the loft might just work if the neighbour is up for it and you explain why you want to do it, after all it is also in the cat's interest to as it is either that or get rid of problem. Best of luck with the birds.

Cheer up m8. at least the cat owner did the right thing to give you something to start over again. I had a problems with my next door cats as well. The one of their parents used to be a fancier and they knows it that it cost us for our stock birds. Especially, when you both it as a inland & channel winner. :)
