You can buy off who you want, it doesn't mean for a second that they are going to be winners just because they're off the likes of 'Frank Tasker'.  One top man said to me just the other week, 'I an give you the tools but its up to you how you work with them'.  Names don't always mean anything, an unknown has been known to win a national or two now and again I'm sure.    ;)

the thread was about who would you buy from, frank tasker and jeff kirkland along with jimmy bamling would be the guys who  i would buy from, who would you buy from ?

i have been told if you are buying birds for distance buy from good flayers north of your loft.

I know what the thread was about, I learnt to read the other day, going to try my hand at joined up writing next.   :P  ;)  ;D   Seriously, I'm lucky that I don't need to buy from anyone and I hope it stays that way but if I had to then I certainly wouldn't go for any of the ones you mentioned unless they were of the right step and were tools I could work with.  Neither would I tell you or anyone else who I'd buy from as its nobodies business but mine, unless of course they were going to pay me to advertise their names.   Can't be doing with this ego stroking business, give most people a ferarri and they'd crash it, you have to know how to drive the thing to make it worth anything mate.

I'd pay a fortune for the advice of many a top pigeon man though.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

geoff kirkland ,f.a tasker and ron williamson.

i have heard they all share birds between them and they all use the throat theory if them two statements are true then that could be an eye opener for a lot of people.

so you want to do well in a national and so you go to all these flyers to buy your stock, and hey presto instant success, NOT! one thing a lot of these flyers have in common is the size of teams.i know it does not make any difference (or some would say), most have not just big race teams but massive stock teams. if you buy from these buy from the birds that are breeding the national winners, not the brothers sisters aunts uncles etc, that they want to sell at a good price. pick a small team man who is consistent, always there in every type of race, there are a few about, none of which are mentioned above.research is the key.

I said 'Top pigeon men'   :P ;D ;D  :X  ;D ;D    Not being funny Chriss but when I use the term 'mate' it isn't always in the way you take it, judging from how angry you are with the world I doubt your anyones mate, sad really.   :-/   you never answered my questions by the way.   :-/

If it's Welsh flyers you're interested in, try these. Dennis Ford, Blaenavon. Colin Pearce, Pentwyn. Spencer Jones, Abersychan. These three are the best in the Eastern Valley and beyond. They consistantly deliver at the highest level.

There are many top national and classic flyers spread all over the UK, but the question one has to ask one self is what type of pigeon do you require for a specific distance in certain conditions. Up here in the north east of scotland i know for a fact i'd be wasting my time obtaining stock from lets say the UK rated No.1 flyer if there pigeons were excellent good one day pigeons up to 400 miles, and my ambition is to score at 500 miles.

Me personally i have obtained stock from some of the best lofts in scotland who consistently clock pigeons on the winning day from 500 miles, these lofts maybe fly 30-50 miles short of me, and stock from lofts further north of me flying over 600 miles and regularly time early second day. Theory is to establish a team of pigeons who on the right day in the right conditions can make it on the day at 540 miles, should the race be a bit of a grueller then i would then hope that the pigeons carrying the second day 600 miles blood have the noodle to rise early in the morning... easier said than done i know but we all need to start of with some kinda game plan!

So getting back to the question, ye fanciers like geoff kirkland etc are UK legends and have great birds, but not for me... its a true saying horses for courses, fanciers like Denis Dall, Jim Doig, Jock King to name a couple who consistently send some times one, two or three birds to 500-600 miles and get them and win national diplomas are that bit exceptional in my book.

If you listen you will learn, and you ain't the only one who's been in the army, come from a family of soldiers.   ;)  8) 8) 8)  ;)   I asked the question WHY you would choose the three flyers you would buy from, when you answer I'll learn your reasons, as you've heard mine, so we all learn.   ;)

have to dissagree there owen m8 where you say these 3 are the best(not saying they aint up there too)...but without a doubt there are two you have not mentioned which i feel today are at the top of the sport too...preece bros?..is it 8 or 9 1st nationals (in the bhw last week)and surely john and pat webber has to be mentioned....7 1st nationals?..each winning a national this year and last.

j+p webber 4 1st feds on the trot last year.

the racing pedigree of all these are just fantastic.
