hotrod Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 I could never keep prisoners they all fly out , i bought two hens last september i had them 3 weeks i couldnt take it anymore so let one out on the saturday and it was offski then returned sunday morn ,the next one i did the same next saturday and the same thing offski and back sunday morn ,ps they cost me £150 each. I have always thought happy /fit and healthy pigeons will breed better young .jmo
fletch Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 my dad will say no as he never had a stock loft but i will be keeping stock as i feel that it helps building a family
Guest chrisss Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 yes ,but mine have a flight to go into during the day [ a total must for prisoners] its not just fitness, its boredom, plenty of light, room to have a bath
Guest IB Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 I've never had prisoners, always broke / or tried to break birds to loft as I want all my birds to fly out. I think it makes for a happier healthier pigeon.
dwh Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 best thing we ever did building a flight
chickadee Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 I am working towards having no prisoners but I don't want to take any chances with some birds I have just got :-/
ally mac Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 I would like to have all mine out in the summer too but would hate to lose some of them. Maybe once they have bred a few rounds will think about it again. They have access to an aviary and bath etc so at least they can get out in the mean time,
