whats the best way to  settle young that are  a few weeks old and not been out  so as not to lose  them,

Have they been able to see out? can you get them in an avairy/cage on front of loft? would make sure there extra hungry! and put a bath out for them ;-)

Soap their flights down with some washing up liquid, they'll not be able to get airborne

The feed tin a great thing for taming ,as Tony says soap there wings,when I was younger we use to make a harness to go over one wing then when you put the birds back into the loft they could still fly to their perches.Put them in a basket or crate where they can see the garden and most of all the front of the loft,miss feeding them for a couple of days(or very short ration) when you do feed them sit in the loft with them and make them feed out of your hand.Any that don't feed out of your hand get nothing,They'll soon get the hang of it.
