Guest kev d Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 20rings every year haven,t raced yb for 4or 5 years now can,t bear to lose them as babys just train up not very often but just let them mature with out stress not bad as yearlings ok one or two go down but i choose there races very carefully and the weather before i send them .
REDCHEQHEN Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 raced 27, one culled because of illness and lost 3 in racing
Guest Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 crikey good job u add your trained ones how do u find them as old birds how do they do as they were just trained how far u send them as yearlings this year i sent as far as newbury 399 miles i think if a birds a good 1 it will be a good 1 raced as a y/b or not did similar last year and have a mix left this year ive gone to more distance minded birds the last couple of years so will have to see how they go

Guest Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 interesting, theres a few differant cercumstances there i like the look of 399 as ybsits a challange and a thrill i guess good going 399 as yearlings adam but missed the last race at 456 from easbourne out to 317 as y/bs with the SNFC
adam owen Posted November 6, 2009 Author Report Posted November 6, 2009 sorry missed read it still 317 is good going we dnt fly no where near that in wales
Guest frank dooman Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 started training with 43 racers sent to every race out to weatherby 160 odd mls then sent six to y/b nat leicester 264mls left with 26 yearlings and also sent to every wed race 65mls
adam owen Posted November 6, 2009 Author Report Posted November 6, 2009 looking at it i think i will breed what i want for old birds in the summer and leave them natral and train them and keep 20 on darkness to race the programe just to compete as the yb losses are so many know it seems a better idea to look after a team of ybs and train them yea ull loose some but ull have a nice team of yearlings stress free as ybs looking the part as they wont have the darkness
dwh Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 started 47 + 6 imports ended up with 27 yb loses in our area over last 5yrs have been terrible not just us but having said that we lost a few training 2nd toss with ybs clashed with up north combine transporter yb training
adam owen Posted November 6, 2009 Author Report Posted November 6, 2009 thats most of the trouble i think clashing with the tech we got thease days i dnt see why like????

Guest Thunder Birds Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 50 youngsters started training, 40 made it to the first race. 1/2 stopped early (between 70 and 120 miles) due to moult (didn't use darkness this year) and keeping cocks back for next year. The rest through to 200 miles. 35 left at the end of the season. 3 of the 5 lost were at the last race!
adam owen Posted November 7, 2009 Author Report Posted November 7, 2009 good going when u say no darkness wen did u breed them as u got them to 200 miles
