Roland Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 Don't know. But I have, as on the odd occasion before, one yearling (May Bred) that hasn't dropped a single feather at all. Still has the phone number on from last year like.
Guest frank dooman Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 mine have been on it for a couple of weeks and just starting to loose the body feathers some time its better to give it a wee hand to get started by feeding some redband for a week
jimmy white Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 plenty baths and a little heating seeds should encourage this body moult
adam owen Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 sometimes it takes awhile stick with wat u doing it will come all of asudden trust me it happ to me i asked the same thing then one morn i went in there and they were like rags
Guest frank dooman Posted March 23, 2010 Report Posted March 23, 2010 put them on moulting mixes dont know if that will help them start danny moulting mix is just a high protine mix surely small seed like redband will get them started or turn the drinker upside down for 24hrs that will get them going but theres plenty of time yet they will start

Guest Brian.Duffy Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 I give my birds Sedochol its excellent stuff for the moult twice a week on the grain. You wont beleave how soft there feathers will be in just a short time giving it to them and its also good for the liver.
greenlands Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 plenty baths and a little heating seeds should encourage this body moult Also as Brian says Sedochol,or butter milk. Lindsay

Guest Brian.Duffy Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 do u give this to y/bs on darkness will it not encourage them to start dropping flights, Yes my darkness ybirds get it twice a week and I have never had problems with them dropping flights. I add a tabelspoon of sedochol to a kilo of feed excellent stuff. Brian

Guest mick bowler Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 The early bred YBs should naturally start a body moult even without being on the darkness. My section is full of feathers every morning, and was before they went on the dark (17th March), im no expert on darkness but would suggest there may be a problem.
