cemetary Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Yes, this is a good way to introduce each other, i have done this for years, no problems when putting them for real. No fighting etc.
little sam Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 I WILL DO WITH MY WIDOWHOOD COCKS, A FLYER TOLD ME IT WILL HELP THE COCKS BOND TO THE BOX MORE AND TO SAVE ANY HASTLE WITH PAIRING THEM LATER IN SEASON ;)
Guest IB Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 I do this every year too. The widowhood nest front is ideal for it. Also gives you an idea whether the pairs will take OK. I think 3/4 weeks before pairing is too much tho, think you may brown them off; the weekend before pairing is time enough surely? Incidently, any youngsters that pair up I also leave together the following year as yearlings (except when I have something else in mind for them). Means 90% of the birds are pre-paired, and what's left get to choose their own mate (racers).
