Guest Hjaltland Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 I take it you'll be flying YB's north then? What's the furthest racepoint for the ybs?

Guest Hjaltland Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 Cheers Jim, its a great hobby, just wish we had a few more members to keep things going. There's so much in the sport to interest you. What really interests me is seeing families evolving. Such a small body and brain to cope with travelling over all sorts of terrain and water (I'm talking about the pigeons!)
Guest milkyal Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 We didnt get any day birds in our club yesterday, but there are 7 now that i know of. Perry Bros & son of Kings Lynn did not have any birds at noon today, they are legends from there. Well done to Frank Bristow, what a gentleman he is.
Carl Upsall Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 Eventually timed at 1156 today, the bird has a mark and a half from hitting wires, however he has made it home. Well done to all who timed, commisserations to my friend Guy Perry of Perry Bros who I thought would be favourites when it hit 13 hours yesterday Carl
Guest Hjaltland Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 Carl, Glad to hear you got one! It is a tough racepoint and its a valliant effort for an injured bird to struggle on and make it back. I wonder at what stage it picked up the injury? how far did it fly in that state. Deserves his perch and his wee hen now!
Carl Upsall Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Kenny , Unbelievable, got a first timer yesterday evening at 1824, may be last in the race, but what agame little bugger. Our first bird is now cleaned up and will be rested for his 4th trip next year. He may be an irritating git at times but he certainly gives all at Lerwick. Congratulations to Frank Bristow, performance of a lifetime, lassic race, classic winner Carl
Mr Yorkie Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Just to everyone know that the probable winner of the Yorkshire North Road Fed will be Mark Ward winning on a velocity of around 1150. I understand that he did the double on Saturday winning our short race from Alnwick with the daughter of the hen which has won him Lerwick. Well done Mark, you and your Dad deserve it!
Taylorsloft Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 got a lerwick pigeon in yesterday comes from yorkshire
