As far as I know  (I think so) when I arrived the birds had just cleared, both wagons were beginning to tidy up.... I missed the lib because they'd shifted the lib point to the other side of town and no bugger had thought to tell me... very disappointed as I was looking forward to gettin some good pics.  :X :-/

That, would on the face of it, would seem to be a logical, sensible idea?

The furthest we've ever flown successfully is from Morpeth.. something like 350 miles. Trouble is it' s always only a very few birds. For the most part it's only short races but the degree of difficulty is the problem. For example we were at Orkney Islands today, 120 miles and we only have something like 50% returns by evening time. It can be daunting. We've tried all sorts of strains, long, sprint every name under the sun!  but its only by keeping breeding back off the returns that progress as such is made. Must be F'n crazy!! ::)

fair play hjaltland to the birds that make it back to you.they race from so far inland for you and yet when there at their most tired they got to come across that final stretch of water (how far is that stretch from the mainland)i bet many have lost their lives in that daunting stretch of water yet their so near to home :(

Well the morning has opened up and is beautiful, only blemish being 7 Cocks still missing. I have looked at the early times from yesterday, and can only say "bloody Brilliant flying" to each and every one of them. Great race, great birds 13 Hours 24 minutes to the provisional winner Frank Bristow.

Regards Carl

Great flying, Very satisfying for the fanciers concerned. Results like this dont come easy.

Congrats to all concerned.

Carl - I guess you'll still be wearing a mark in the lawn today waiting! Hope you get some back.

Doo... if you're asking about the Lerwick lib... I missed the actual moment because the liberation point had been shifted and I wasnt told - (didnae ken!!) Silly me.

I will say however that I got there only a couple of minutes after and there was no sign of even one doo, very very few flying around here during the day yesterday, I did see a possible couple of racers fly past here just a minute ago.. probable racer strays. It would be a very rare thing to have 100% clearing completely

It looked like it had been a good clean lib.

Jeez - oh doo.. I've just realised what you're on about - there were Scottish birds aboard the transporter. I'd be very interested to hear how they get on too.

Hi both, I'm just back into the sport this year and will be flying North for the first time next month.

But I ve heard that on the whole they have been getting great racing & returns obviously some sticky races have been had too, but not as many as south road.

Lerwick will be about 365 miles I think to lofts in Killie don't quote me on that as I'm not sure.
