hooky Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 you fella don't worry about colours pair your best to best
Guest beautyhomer Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 would i get them colours if i pair to a pure white All depends on the genetic make up of the white, but I would think it unlikely.Personally I would pair him to a black to maintain the intensity of the red colour.
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 beautyhomer nos what hes talking about he has a genetic book,
Wiley Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 I agree with hooky how do you know this is a meaulamen, ive known people with chocolates and they have come from many different family of pigeons
schouwman71 Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 The old vanden bosch i use to have use to breed them, these were the dark pied that bred the chocolate ones, theye changed when they moulted into the choc pieds.Les p.s never raced well but they bred better.
Roland Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Yep Best to Best means obviously then worst to worst.!
peterpau Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Mike young had chocolate in his Spangles. Got 'em here.
Guest beautyhomer Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Can none of you racing fanciers explain how you know its a Meaulamen.Surely it is not possible to do so based soley on colour.Anyone with a very basic understanding of genetics can introduce a colour into a family of pigeons
pigeonpete Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 hi just seen this post, agree it maybe not a choc meuleman/van den bosh i have 3 pairs of these 1 ive kept pure and 1 choc pied hen i have paired to a white warren foster busschaert cock, i have had 3 ybs off this pair this year first nest 1 white, second nest a white grizzle(red) and a white pied saddle back! the pure pair have just bred 2 both chocolate pieds. the third pair a choc cock paired to a red cheq hen, staf van reet and ive had 4 off these, 1 choc, 1 dk chq pied,1 red 1 blue pied?? so throw some nice colours out ;D out of the 9 ive got 6 left 4 raced, the 1s from the busschaert/choc meuleman flew best
peterpau Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Meulemans are well known for chocolates, but deffinately not the only ones that have chocolates. Wish I had some more of Mike youngs Spangles, of any colour.
