Guest CS Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Sharron, Louella, and PJ Lofts got Chocolate Meulemans http://www.pjlofts.com/stock6.htm PJ Lofts quoted "Chocolate Meulemans We have a number of direct G. H. Schalkwijk pigeons from Holland. they race as well as they look. P.J. Lofts have one of their top stock birds, the 'Truffle'. He is Sire and Grand-sire to many top winners in both England and Holland."

Keepsmilingqueen Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 in that case westy my knowlege of genetics tells me that if you wanted him to breed chocolates you would either have to breed with another chocolate or a pencil of the same lines that has given chocolate offspring before or breed it back to a daughter. as chocolate colouring is double ressessive meaning in order to be chocolate they have to have 2 ressessive genes. (one from the sire and one from the dam) (my colour obsession comes from a love of genetics, as well as the fact that they look pretty : all being well when my A-level results come out tommorow i should be going to study Genetics/biology at newcastle uni i hope he does well for your westy as he is very stunning, almost as stunning as my seagull cock (aka very huge pied staf van reet) that jimmy sent me lol. i am now seriously tempted lol all i need is some white ones, chocolate ones, mealies, black ones and a silvers and i have the compleate rainbow pigeon set :-/ i think lol
ribble Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 good luck with your A level results, hope you get your grades.
hooky Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 how can you people tell it is a meulman just by looking at it?seriously i have had many choc gay pied from numerous families
Guest beautyhomer Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 He is a recessive red pied, chocolate is a term used by racing fanciers. All his young will be carriers for recessive red.If you pair a daughter back to him, half the young will be recessive reds and the other half carriers. Andrew
