Jeremy Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 Hi there We use the Unikon system and we are running 16 pads which is 32 sensors off 1 system . Of course for the 1 loft race we use a bigger system with 6 ports on which each port can run 4 pads or 24 pads in total. I find the system very good. Jeremy.
T_T Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Read an interesting point in the HW this week. As those with disabilities are being looked at for being discriminated against, it was suggested that those who CAN'T AFFORD the system, are ALSO being discriminated against. Fair point ?
carl Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Just a question here..Does ets need to linked to the mains or can you get it battery powered.
PIGEON_MAN Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 You can use it on the mains or on a volt battery.
PIGEON_MAN Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 That should of read 12,numbers lock must of been on.

carl Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 You can use it on the mains or on a volt battery. Another question,if i get ets before it is accepted could i use it for my own personal use, watching the times my birds arrived home etc. This would be good for keeping track of what birds are coming the best. What im saying is would i still be able to race my birds with an ets ring on and have the race marked with a rubber also ??????? thanks people
carl Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Thanks hyacinth, but what about the race rubber as this would have to go on the same leg as the ets ring would it not.I would think about getting it upfront if i could do this.Who would i contact to approve this.
V1JSL Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Hi Is their a new model of ETS been released. The one in the ad of this weeks BHW looks more modern than the one i have (2 years old) Thanks
MsPigeon Posted November 24, 2006 Report Posted November 24, 2006 Thanks hyacinth, but what about the race rubber as this would have to go on the same leg as the ets ring would it not.I would think about getting it upfront if i could do this.Who would i contact to approve this. No need for rubber counter marks when you have ETS is there? At least not here. Carol
PIGEON_MAN Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Thanks hyacinth, but what about the race rubber as this would have to go on the same leg as the ets ring would it not.I would think about getting it upfront if i could do this.Who would i contact to approve this. Carl,You could take the ets ring off when you send the bird to the race,or as you say put the rubber ring over top of ets ring,i would not think you would have to contact anyone to approve the latter as there are a lot of birds that have two rings on their legs,i myself have quite a few one leg the rpra ring the other leg a permanent ring with my telephone number on,the easiest way i find is to get the marker to place the rubber on top of the ring this makes it easy to remove when clocking in.
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 evry thing is being taken over my computers
peterpau Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Can't understand the excitement of clocking. I get a thrill just getting them. For me the best thing with ets is, I could use it for training, and identify any persistant latecomers.
PIGEON_MAN Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 evry thing is being taken over my computers Ben,as a young fancier i,m surprised you are against the ets surely with you still being at school you can see that as you have said above, everything is being taken over by computer,s and we must move forward, just out of interest what are your reasons for being against it.
schouwman71 Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 I love timing the birds in by hand but sometimes feel its scaring the youngsters into racing home,i once had a good sootjen cock spoilt when my mate grabbed him wrong in the loft, one week he was 1st club 1st combine, then week after 1st club 2nd combine, the week he was grabbed he was 2nd club ,2nd combine. After that he was never the first pigeon and would never trap straight up.I agree with the e.t.s system.
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 weel i like taking the rubber of and clocking, and it is to dear for me
Chatrace Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 weel i like taking the rubber of and clocking, and it is to dear for me We have a flyer like that .so we put countermarkers on for him also ,but he also has chips that we use for results. He just like to see the markers on his floor I think, 8)
WulDon Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 its time to move with the times lads and leave individual personalities behind lets think of the sport and the bigger picture for once. ets has been in scotland for a couple seasons now and initually like all new technoligy fanciers are frightened off by it and the scare mongering that goes with it ceratinly doesnt help. gradually in scotland more fanciers are seeing the real benefits of the system, its not all about timing say six pigeons in 2 seconds! there is nothing better standing back on a saturday watching your pigeons trap to the system with all the same excitement as conventional clocking, no bad traps with youngsters!!! off course the cost is a major off put, in scotland we have been fortunate for most clubs to recieve lottery grants to buy the systems for clubs and lo and behold it then becomes the best system since sliced bread. it would appear that probably the majority of scottish fanciers will have an ets system within the next season or two, as most competitive fanciers are aware they have to go with the flow or get left behind. this post is simply my own views and not intended to debate with any one, but as a user of ets i will welcome any sensible comments and answer any questions or help in any way i could.
