Is this system exactly as it sounds? sexes never seeing each other? are the pigeons motivated just by their box? Does anyone use this system & win? Not thinking of using it just interested, thanks in advance!

motivation is before races not after.. motivate them to come home,, then get them ready for the next one,, you must use different things to motivate each week.. right here is one for you,,

week 1 - for celibate cocks,, put bowls in box thursday evening,, friday morning open boxes,, 1 hour before basketing put basket on floor in loft with 1 hen in it,, put 2 bowls on basket.. then leave for 30 mins..lol.. then go back and basket birds.. lol.. they will be bouncing,,

week 2 - not telling ..lol..

goodluck all for 2008

So they don't get to see em after race? Where's the motivation to get home? Is it just love of the loft?

Well you just hit they nail on the head the.

And the best condition of their lives. Doesn't hurt none  for tem to see each other.

If you have them up th road regular.

They see each other before and after races i think, just never allowed to pair up and lay / rear.

In simple terms !!!!!!.That basically is correct in what you say,  ;) ;) ;). Here in my area  ;D ;D ;D across the pond !!!!!!! we have been using that system for 100 odd years etc, with our young birds, when racing in the old bird season (Strange isn't ) Because we start racing in winter, the mating urge is not as pronounced as in summer etc, so we have found that by seperating the sexes & letting them run together for a few hours before going to the races, with a bowl or box etc (Most just have perches in their lofts). The good ones ???????? become as keen as mustard & will fly through a brick wall to get home, so to speak "The bad ones"  :P :P :P ain't worth a cup full of cold water  :D :D :D but we don't worry about them to much (easy come easy go), & the funny thing is !!!!!!. the old plodders (Old birds) don't hold a candle to our babies when racing, on average."Strange" But anyone interested in this system as such, might just be surprised & amazed, at what you could achieve. If you gave it a bit of a bash  :P :P :P in your loft.

Enjoy.

I have 5 spare hens this year, in a section on their own, none of them get to run with any cock, and one of the things I've noticed is they are in much better condition than the paired hens. 2 of them have since paired up, but I intend the others to be celibate.
