T_T Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Paulo, Our birds are part of our family and best friends and we know them all as individuals or by name and as such, when anything hurts them, it hurts us and I feel that if your'e not effected in that way, then there must be something missing.
Guest Paulo Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 too true mate its the same with my birds
Roland Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Barry Andrews use to always fly Bussechearts... then changed and his results changed. Now devastating the club and fed with Bussechearts... especially at the distance.
Roland Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I personally believe them to be best honest 'Mongrol' of all time, at any distance. When one talks of strains it is obviously a joke... but breeding is different. Hence they will cross and mix with any other strain of pigeon... because tey are first, lastly and always pigeons. Now 'Blood Wise' they have been arguably the most sucessful strain any where WORLDWIDE!
schouwman71 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 i think if i had to go and get some busschearts again i would go for the old twirler lines from louella, i had the old dark corbetts years ago they flew steady as youngsters but were winners as yearlings.
barlbylofts Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 i got busschaerts and most of them are my best birds do well long distance and mid
Guest CS Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Hi Craig, Rapido long gone. I believe Warren Foster does have a family of Rapido Busschaerts. As with all families of pigeons, I think you must be very careful ( if your'e spending good money ) who you go to. Don't know anything about Northern Lass. I think I've given you the name of the man with an inbred family of dark Busschaerts as close to the originals as I'm sure you'll get. Thank you for the info, mate
Guest Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 ;D ;D ;DPAULO u asked which other countries they flew well in ? i believe Wales .Scotland , and Ireland fanciers all done well with them ! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Wiley Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 the 'parkside superman' are the Busschaerts lines louella mainly advertise does anyone know any information about the pigeon itself and pigeons based around it
Alf_Rothwell Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Rapido died a long time ago in Northumberland. The North East was full of Busschaerts not only George Busschaert but also his brothers Andre Busschaert. The Newton Family of Shildon had the first ones I knew of in the North East ( early sixties). When I started up in Whitley Bay after leaving Ushaw Moor I formed a family of them from Billy Sanders (Toft Hill), Dr J J Horn & Ali Bros.I concentrated on these for up to 415 miles and for the longer races I had the grizzle family from Ray Pearson (Ushaw Moor). These two families kept me at the Top for 35 years. I think the best Busschaerts in the world finished up in the North East of England. In my later years of racing I crossed them with the Van Wildemeersch.
johnny11 Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Hi Alf A local flyer has busschaerts and they do well, I believe you know him Tommy Johnston John
Alf_Rothwell Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Yes I know Tommy, only on the phone. He has had some of the best Busschaerts from the North East.

Guest Paulo Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 "I had the grizzle family from Ray Pearson'' He's still got those Alf lovely birds. Says they take a bit of time to mature through I'm going to try and cadge some next year lol

Guest Paulo Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Your white ones look very nice Fifer I had a look on your website ages ago good website as well. If anyone is interested John Chowder is selling birds in BHW this week.
Roland Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 PAULO u asked which other countries they flew well in? i believe Wales .Scotland , and Ireland fanciers all done well with them ! Bussecheart was devastating in BELGIUM... both before coming here to set up his carpet business... flew still in his brother - in - laws name... then went home and set record after record. Seems the belges disliked him and just hate giving him the credit he deserved... But many of his records are still unsurpassed there... and here. Like first 18 etc. Kent Fed.... 1st three etc. in big races Belgium.... have to try and sort out his amazing Belgy feats... when I have a week to spare lol... but seriously will have too! I rate Bussecheart, then Mozzarella then the Old man Janssen as stockmen unbelievable, and in that order. Logan of course was also a great pioneer.
Guest Paulo Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Thanks Roland. He's an amazing man one of my pigeon racing heros
Roland Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Mine too .... you won't far wrong with him guiding anyone. One of the elitists without doubt! Yet overall as a Stockman / Racer peerless without a doubt! Heads, if not shoulders, above any one else worldwide I believe, like many more. Yes there are contemporises, but they falter on one or the other compared to Bussecheart. Even his sister held her own in Belgium. Yet how he just knew what would produce what when paired with such and such was a class act of the highest order, indeed unparallel. Yes throw the names, bandy them around… but every other needed another sauce to be successful, either as a Racer, or as a producer of a strain. Makes me smile when I see names banded about of some feat / breeding performances of to – day! Remember also the world is smaller today. Others methods and years experience easily access and knowledge gained that somewhat I believe deters from many’s natural affinity, basic instincs.
pigeonpete Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 "I had the grizzle family from Ray Pearson'' He's still got those Alf lovely birds.
