ChrisMaidment08 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 mike val crooks staithes cumbria soojons
schouwman71 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 if sootjens,i would go to john salt from kimberley,he still has the old stuff, but theres many different strains about now,so i would go for sprinters that suited me and i like the feel of.
schouwman71 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 val is a top class fancier, gets the best out of them i think aswell, but i always think if you buy pigeons you want as close to the original lines that bred the combine winners and not necessary from the winners themselves,he gets his birds from frank sheader, sheader got them direct from sootjen, you need them has close to the original stuff, then start from there, just like val did. Les
Roland Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 For the tops of most strain Frank Bristow. Then again any bird can excell at 200 miles... all down to Management and systems I believe.

Guest Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 Most families should win sprint races, with just a few exceptions. Sprint racing success is mainly down to preparation!
pjc Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 If you are looking to cross them into your own, what are your own family you race now? Phil
Guest Silverwings Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 could try something different ? seperate yourself from the crowd ! bit of creativity makes it realy interesting ie; for 200 miles how about 75% meulemans 25% jan aarden ? any other suggestions out there .......ray

just ask me Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 Most families should win sprint races, with just a few exceptions. Sprint racing success is mainly down to preparation! diagree with u a lot i spent a good few bob on two familles of birds before i had the family that i have now i put a major amount of work into both of them these were well known respeced sprint based birds yes i won a few races but noting like im doing now and i went staight too the source for them birds they were good birds but wouldent have a hope of holding into what i have now same loft same feed the lot so the birds is what counts no mater what the distance ok they have to be done right yes but i reckon im even putting less work in now to get better results just what i have found u see im living 30 mile out of the way to be in the right positon have been in the top 5 in fed when no one in my area in top 50
Roland Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 you know, in all reality, the Bussearts take all the beating... especially as they are also a great cross.
swilcox Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 De Klak Janssen, they are still dominate at middle distance across the globe, all be it under different names, Verkerk Van De Merwe Koopman (x van Loon) Schearlackens De Brujn Van Lint etc etc Stuart
schouwman71 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 A friend has just brought 30 in from Schellephorst a fortnight ago, they are absolute stunners. i bet he flies well with them bud. Les
