Guest Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 Is the lanarkshire Fed Leicester yearling open, a meaningless race as far as schooling for yearlings is concerned. I would have to say yes,on the basis they have already been to Newark. Is there any advantage sending your yearlings to Leicester with it only being some 20 miles further, think not.
ALF Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 I thought we would have been going to Leicester 2 weeks ago so seen as we are'nt get it right up the *expletive removed* that voted to go that way :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/
Guest bigda Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 as it turns out no there where a lot of yearlings, clocked at newbury
Guest Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 as it turns out no there where a lot of yearlings, clocked at newbury We will see those statistics were the result becomes apparent.
frank-123 Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 the more races the more experienced the yearlings will be for next year i have a few yearlings for eastbourne that never went tonight if they return from eastbourne then hopefully next year i can benefit of having some yearlings that have got to the coast club mate of mine races yearlings to the coast every year not a bad flyer some call him jittery but he is not so jittery to send his yearlings to the coast

frank-123 Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 so you send a bird to 270 miles then back again to 250 surely it has gained valuable exprience from both races so in my opinion its not a wasted race do you stop your yearlings vincent? at 250 miles
gangster Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 every race is more experiance for them regardless of distance flown....
frank-123 Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 every race is more experiance for them regardless of distance flown.... and i learn as well hopefully

Guest Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 i have sent 8 should have been 11 i have 5 injured yearlings 3 i left out where not right today Well good luck Danny, but do you honestly believe that these yearlings will gain anymore experience than if you stopped them at Newark.?????????????/
Guest bigda Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 Well good luck Danny, but do you honestly believe that these yearlings will gain anymore experience than if you stopped them at Newark.?????????????/ not really sure on it, but what i will say is this the birds that made it from newbury, is no guarantee they will come out of it again, or eastbourne, there where a lot of older birds lost at newbury that had flown eastbourne, last year, and over the water, some say when they are in the position to reproduce there type they are only as good as there last race, and go on to say they are only racing pigeons yearlings out of the young bird national went down in hexham, and wakefield so they havent learnt any thing flying a lesser distance
Guest stb Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 The more they are in the basket the better as long as they are coping with it.
