Novice Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 was falla hill superstar van-hee,? , [winner of rennes snfc few years ago],, maybe getting my wires crossed ,but was under that opinion, anyway the van hees seem to excell at the distance I believe the pigeon went to Louella. I also believe the dark pigeons flown by Brian Denny contain some of this blood. I also believe George Brownlee was associated with Fallowhill Superstar--not sure if he was breeder racer or both. Perhaps some of our Lanarkshire members would know.
VAGIN Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 It was Eddie Callahand Who won Scottish National from Rennes with Fallowhill Superstar 554miles on the dayThe bird was purchased from George Brownlee Carluke as young bird Louella bought it back for breeding I think That was around 1986

Robert Hyde Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Silk my girl, was raced by G. Hinchcliff I think
Guest Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Silk my girl, was raced by G. Hinchcliff I think Yes that's right he flies to Glossop in Debyshire, I used to live over the hill from there close to Holmfirth in a village called Meltham. He put up some fantastic performances from Pau (700 miles) with his silk family. And Glossop must be one of the most difficult spots to fly to in the south pennines, it's right on the lancs / yorks border. One of the places that is reularly shut if there is any snow in England is the snake pass, which Glossop is at the start of. Motta was an incredile pigeon, in the early days when Louella first started selling his young everyone who got them lost them off the loft but then when people started keping them in and not flying them out, and breeding from them they started churning out winners!! I bought a couple on a pigeon basics charity sale from Dr Salmon in Scotland last Novemeber. Their pedigrees are several generations from Motta, though quite inbred but I guarantee, the one son in particular (two cocks) will breed me birds to score well up in the section at Tarbes! I also sold a cracking cock bred by Hinchcliffe on here (only due to age and getting money back from my 'investment') which was bought by Maxwell who had I believe a very good pigeon similarly bred that bred some very good distance birds. I have a 2007 son in the stock loft that has never seen a basket! The Van Hees were a great 'breed' of pigeon, would love to get hold of some quality younger ones!

Guest Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 J & T Ellis of Bristol have had vanhee pigeons for years and have scored in National races right up to Palamos, first auction i ever went to in Blackpool as a boy Jos purchased a son of Napolean for over £1000 back in those days. Stu Yes Napolean was rated the top son of Van Hee's golden breeding pair, Asgrauwe Debou x Motta -Duivin. Besides Napolean this pair bred Freddy, Ali and Agent.Napolean won 1st International Narbonne in 1978 among many other top performances. Asgrauqe Debou was a on of Oude Bourges when paired to a daughter of 1st National San Sebastian for Hector Debou. Motta - Duivin was a daughter of Motta when mated to Patrick-Ijzeren-Duivin nest sister of 1st National Bordeaux
