John Dolan was Jacks cousin and put up the money.. Bill Gray only attended on a Sat and Sun and would clean the lofts and maintain them.. Jack was winning out of turn from the 50s.. one of the first to fly widowhood down this way in 1952.. And also if Jack was still alive.. a lot of things would be different in the Glasgow Fed

Fair Play Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 Sorry STB what you say is all hypothetical it's like saying if a goal hadn't been scored it would have been a draw or if the horse hadn't fallen at the last fence it would have won. Just look at the 100 mtrs there was Mcdonald Bailey,Carl lewis,Ben Johnston & Linford Christie all champions but would never have lived with todays champions

bullcock Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 Going back to the fed program, after the wetherby race I think we go on the lanarkshire motor, could we not organise our own transporter to continue racing so we would have 2 races at this point restarting at say ottersburn and going through to wetherby again this would benifit bird which had made a mistake or go jnjured early on and also give extra education for latebreds and yearlings you don't want to push too far.all this while the main birds are at the further races. there maybe technical or financial reasons why this couldn't happen but its food for thought.
Guest frank dooman Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 i think the fed is run by men who only have its best interist at heart they are doing a great job the race prog should be done at the agm go and have your say, the thread was about the early races far east and it looks as though most of the fanciers that are members of the glasgow fed on here agree with what last years prog was
