pjc Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Use your fed programme to educate them then if you can get a few single ups from the coast but a lot is to do with correct feeding and preporation.

Guest cloudview Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 this depends on the distances involved , ie when you say channel races , as these can range from 280 to 700 miles , if with yearlings for example , i would send them every inland race , if they were only going to the shorter channel races , such as lessay , your older birds with experience dont start till maybe the third or fouth inland race ,and sometimes go straight into these with no prior training. these will have three inlands then the second channel race which wuold be fourgeres around the 340 mile mark after this you can jump them anywhere , obviosly with a bit of tittivating here and there
