Guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 if they are making millions out of the pigeon fancier dont think they will ever put a stop to it. I've seen something, somewhere, from the vets and expert clinicians, questioning the clinical effectiveness of the whole annual vaccine thing for all animals and birds, not just pigeons. Agree if it was just pigeons fanciers and racing pigeons, most likely nothing would ever be changed for us, but these experts are talking broadband animal welfare. I also believe there's money to be made from immunity. How much more would a prize bull be worth if it was naturally immune to Foot & Mouth and bred offspring similarly immune? Immunity would be worth more to a country's exports than vaccine development & sales I bet. Now where's me biology notes & test-tubes?
Guest Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 must Vaccinate for PMV,all birds each year, thats the rule - many fanciers dislike to do it
andy Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 JUST GOT MY BIRDS VACCINATED YESTERDAY THE 2nd JAN FOR PARAMYXO BY MY MATE TAM McL..... UNFORTUNATELY OR FORTUNATELY ITS THE LAW HERE IN UK, HOWEVER I BELEIVE ONCE, PLUS A BOOSTER THE FOLLOWING YEAR SHOULD BE ENOUGH HOWEVER IF THIS WAS ADOPTED IM SURE SOMEONES BIRDS WOULD CONTACT IT.
T_T Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 I jab for both p/m and pox. Every pigeon in my garden gets jabbed. Having seen both P/M and POX, it would hurt me so much if my birds went down with either disease. We can all be wise after the event.
sapper756 Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 For PMV every year, as the rules require.
