I don't know !!!!  :P I just have some leaflets, and by all accounts is best in combination with tylan

http://www.jedds.com/SearchKeywordResults.asp?ProductKeyword=Respiratory&SPage=4

Philb if you have a look at Jedds above, there are some dosages for doxycycline on there that might give you an idea of the strength of the doxycycline you need to put in the water.

on the above link there is 260mg to a sachet - to 2 litres of water, (just noticed original post was made in June  :B )

you should be able to work out the dose from that

Doxycycline is also good for STD'S according to the leaflet in the tablets i got hold of!!

Also good for learing urinary track infections, so basically its a broad spectrum antibiotic just like so many others we use.

But like all others dont use it too often an blindly antibiotics can do as much harm as they can good.

Hi

Doxycicline is one of the tetracycline antibiotics

and is the prefered treatment for ornithosis becouse it is less effected by the grit the birds have eaten (tetracyclines have an affinity for calcium and 'bind' to it preventing the drug from being absorbed) but it is still a good idea to remove all grit containing calcium during treatment and preferable several days before (as some will still be in the gizzard)

Yes it is used for STI'S 200mg twice a day for Chlamydia trachoma (but 1000mg as a single dose of the related drug Azithromycin is better)!!!!  ;)
