jordanp31 Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Cheers bruno and craig ;D Does the vaccine come as an injection? and where is the best place to get it from? Does it just protect against PMV?
ALF Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Cheers bruno and craig ;D Does the vaccine come as an injection? and where is the best place to get it from? Does it just protect against PMV? you can get vaccine just for paramyxo or dual vaccine for paramyxo and pigeon pox and you can vaccinate for paratyphoid if you wish aswell
jimmy white Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 this is an injection ,, jordan,, there are many places you can but this, one of the main ones are,,,pigeon pharmacy...... 0870 225 4777 e, mail sales@pigeonpharmacy.co.uk www.hyperdrug.com
jordanp31 Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 cheers lads... Do you have to prove to you club or fed e.t.c that you have vaccinated against PMV ? and if so how do you prove it??? Also do you normally do it your self or if i buy it should i ask someone in my club to do it...
Wiley Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 you get a certificate when buying it, which has to be signed by someone present when vaccinating them, so would ask a club member as its very hard to inject them buy yourself as well
Dave A Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Snooze, snooze, aint it getting boring? is this the best you can help out ? > vaccinating is something that we all have to have done like it or lump it and without it your birds cannot race, all vaccination certidivates have to be signed by 3 people to prove it has been done and the certificate has to be given to the club so to prove it has been done
Wiley Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Snooze, snooze, aint it getting boring? have to agree with alf

korhil Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 hi all, having not raced for approx 10 years, i am starting again this year with ybs, how neccessary is it to vaccinate against paramyxo now? is it still about? thanks
Guest Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 It's a legal requirement - no vaccination, no racing.
sapper756 Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Should vacinate 14 days prior to racing birds
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Should vacinate 14 days prior to racing birds thats leaving it a bit late sapper is it not, i did mine this year as they were leaving the nest
sapper756 Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 thats leaving it a bit late sapper is it not, i did mine this year as they were leaving the nest Yes youre right Tammy, but I believe 14 days is the legal minimum period, before you can race/show birds. I vacinated mine in June
Guest Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Need to be sure that the birds are protected against PMV 'when they mix with others'. Colombovac says 14 days minimum. Couldn't get Colombovac this year and used Nobilis instead. Apart from different doses, 0.2 ml and 0.25ml, they have diifferent 'don't mix with others period' too, 14 days and 5 weeks.
Guest Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 thats leaving it a bit late sapper is it not, i did mine this year as they were leaving the nest do mine then as well tam not to sure but i think that is why i never get young bird sickness
