Shogun Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 We have Flagyl tablets over here. I think there are 2 doses 250mg and 500mg(Flagyl Forte). It is safe to use in pigeons(against canker) if given at a rate of 50mg for 4-6 days. So you have to split the tablet to get the safe dosage. I cut 500mg tablets into 8 parts. Then "trim" sharp edges to avoid harming bird's throat. This also makes the dose closer to 50mg per piece. Hope this helps.

REDCHEQHEN Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 :DWomen thing :D Don't tell women if you do,they'll give you a hard slap ;D ;D ;D ;D You don't know much about women Craig - and even less about flagyl, it treats dental infections, protozoal infections ( amoebic dysentery), giardiasis - an infection of the small intestine, leg ulcers, rosacea. It is an anti-microbial, anti-bacterial and an anti-protozoal drug - and I think theres other, better drugs for 'womens things' :P

Shogun Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 The recommended dose for Flagyl is 50-60mg per bird daily for 4-5 days. Flagyl is Metronidazole. I have been using Trichocure(Ronidazole) tablets with better success. Hope this helps.
