paddymac Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Any members know where you can obtain this product. I can get it from USA no problem but they import from Europe. Would cut out shipping costs.

Guest phillip Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Hi . You can perhaps try PURBAC which is a broad spectrum intibiotics meant for humans . I had very good results on sick birds including younbird illness @ going lites . Only drawback , do not use it continuously . You have to break in between . Good luck

Good luck PURBAC is Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim - which is used to treat e-coli , paratyphoid and coccidiosis in pigeons it doesn't treat respiratory problems
Pretty Pied Un Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 sorry everyone i cant get the doxy due to it needing to be supplied from a vet
Novice Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 Your vet should sell it to you if it is needed. It is also sold under the name of Ornicure. I believe this is manufactured by a branch of the Versa Laga group.

Guest briancol Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 hi ,my birds have or so it seem,Respiratory Disease, they fly for on average just 4 to 5 minutes and some of them are panting like crazy when they land. i thought i was buying Doxycycline online (it was Doxycycline i ordered and was assured thats what i was getting) but when it arrived it is Duocycline. i want to use it in the drinking water so need to know how much to use per litre and for how long,.
REDCHEQHEN Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 doxycyline is 5gm to 10 lit of water for 3 to 5 days The dosage depends on the strength - it is available in several strengths 5% 10% 40% 100% - are the ones I know of - all require different amounts in water (shrug)
