Guest bigda Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Even from extreme distance bigda like tarbes or barcelona must be a full bin good job my birds don,t live in your loft none left. a lot of doo men know there doos but don't realize each year the birds that where sent to a 500 mile race and came home 2 days later with an injury or came back at all are then bred of the following year, leaving only 2 day bird to breed from the next year, years gone by the pigeon men killed lazy birds ,or ate them, the times are still there mile a minute but no one seem to bother with this, but would shout from the highest mountain if there bird could do 1400 consistently
cemetary Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Jock King from Kirkcaldy, he must be one of the best long distance fanciers just now, as i said earlier on this week, hes chapping at the door, also said to him at the Falasie marking. So i hope next year he gets the door open for him, fantastic 500+ flyer.

Guest Hjaltland Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I would too if it was less than 200 miles ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D This really depends on where you live, i.e. the degree of difficulty... I can assure you that where we live we wouldnt dream of binning any bird coming back from 200 miles or so, even if it took them three days! I fly Jan Aarden Ko Niupius Stichelbaut Jansen Heinz 57's... all have done well at distance, elsewhere, in their time.
