Guest IB Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 You basically don't have to bother with them, they can't do the birds harm.
pigeonpete Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 You basically don't have to bother with them, they can't do the birds harm. Maybe not, but they do eat the feathers, and must stop them resting fully?
thunderbigbaws Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 they nhave a munch on the feathers i have 1or2 with V shaped holes in there flights. so they do like a munch
Guest IB Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Maybe not, but they do eat the feathers, and must stop them resting fully? No, they don't eat anything, they can't, they don't have chewing mouthparts.
cemetary Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 how do you get rid of moths in your loft Leave your wallet in the house when going in the loft, ;D ;D

Have been lead to believe it is the lathe that eat things not the moths themselfs, get some moth balls out of the local hardware store that is what i use in the nestboxes.

Guest stb Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 You basically don't have to bother with them, they can't do the birds harm.terriblre for eating feather especially on white flighted birds. I spray with a concentrate which leaves a residue on surfaces and kills flys moths mite etc when they come into contact with it for 4 months, tottaly safe and non toxic. Its made for budgies and canary,s to spray on them and keeps them lice free for 4 months at a time. you cant spray it on pigeons as it has a feather penetrator which last for 4 to 5 months and if your birds are in the rain they get soaked in seconds and cant fly for hours. a bit like dipping them in washing up liquid saturates them, but great for loft surfaces. you always find dead moths and flys laying about when you clean out.
