Hi all,

I am going to scrape the loft tomorrow, floor, nestboxes the works. I am going to be wanting to disinfect it all too but being unable to let my remaining birds out I need to know what will be safe to use around the birds. With healthy birds I wouldn't be averse to using diluted Jeyes but in their weakened state I dont know if that is a good idea or not.

Any ideas?

Thanks all :)

Blow torch. Every day I blow torch the pieves of 8 inch square of wood the Water Container sits on. Blow torch most every week. Vikron spray too after scraping.

Still worry lol.

Something like Virkon S. If you go to equine centre they have loads different disinfectants for stables etc that do the job in lofts too.

i would tend to agree,it does state on the back of the pack that it is suitable for pigeon lofts and once dry you can let your birds back in there.it kills the pmv bug as well as bird flu and other nasties.ideal for a good cleanse.
