sapper756 Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Prefer to use garlic cloves rather than oil.
markbrown Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 We use wheatgerm oil on corn, 2/3 weeks prior to pairing. Vit E and good for fertility

Wiley Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 safflower is good (vit e) a very important part of the corn trust me!
snowy Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 use a drop or 2 drops of OLBAS oil in nest boxes on floor, does well for the breathing & makes the loft smell nice.

schouwman71 Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 i use olive oil ,very sparingly on the corn, really makes there feathers look well, and oil of olay on their face, keeps them looking young,HA HA ;D ;D ;D
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 use a drop or 2 drops of OLBAS oil in nest boxes on floor, does well for the breathing & makes the loft smell nice. Eucalyptus oil works just as well and is a lot cheaper (99p) Use different oils on the corn Groundnut oil Wheatgerm oil Cod liver oil Garlic or garlic oil Evening primrose oil ( and they don't suffer from PMT ;D ;D ) My birds have lovely silky feathering

Guest slugmonkey Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 It just depends on what you are using it for I like peanut oil to add fat but sometimes use wheat germ oil if I want to stick something to food ( brewers yeast or supplements ) it adds vitamin E and K and I use garlic sometimes for the benifit of garlic but I NEVER use soy bean oil as I was told it was toxic to birds
madmaxlofts Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 has any 1 ever used mazola been told thats good
THE FIFER Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Eucalyptus oil works just as well and is a lot cheaper (99p) Use different oils on the corn Groundnut oil Wheatgerm oil Cod liver oil Garlic or garlic oil Evening primrose oil ( and they don't suffer from PMT ;D ;D ) i have a couple of those house cups with the smelly stuff in them when empty i wash them out and put eucalyptus in them keeps the loft good. My birds have lovely silky feathering
me Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 "use of oils" hope there are no "animal rights" punters looking in this garbage is embarrasing pigeons that are being looked after properly don't need this sort of crap and could lead to crop failure problems if over done.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 has any 1 ever used mazola been told thats good GREAT IF YOU ARE FLYING THE BIRDS :D
Bilco Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 Mazola is Corn Oil and thus rich in carbohydrates. Ground Nut Oil is rich in B Complex vitamins and fat, excellent when rearing YBs, also has nice flavour.
mac1 Posted January 11, 2007 Author Report Posted January 11, 2007 easy tiger (me) im a novice and was wondering about using oils it might be garbage for all i know, sorry for offending you
