hi,

just though id say i also had a youngbird that lost the use of its legs within a few days of being split off from the parent birds, it also lost the feathers just under its chin, droppings were fine under the mic, and no sign of canker ect so i gave it calcium and withing a few days it was a whole new bird the feathers came back in and it was perching and exersizing its wings and its never looked back since  ;D no clue really what was wrong with it tho its been the only bird to show that kind of symptoms to im hoping it was just a mineral deficiancy

heard that there is a lot of this on the go it seems quite serious as far a i have heard young birds lossing the use of legs and using their wings to manouvre about the floor looks like something else taken over from young ird sickness .

Would think most likely explanation for 'tipsy' young bird not long shifted from parents would be simple dehydration.

i have a youngbird thats limping  and laying on the floor , i know its not hit anything  so wonder what the cause might be

as wiley says ,, how do you know its not hurt,

could be lack of calcium, [but doubt it]

cant see lack of water doing this , bird would drink b4 this stage,

could be bumble foot

could be paratyphoid

could be paramyxo

needs a vet to look at it  :)   good luck :)

Mind personally I would only want to know what it is, and WHY.... then mostly it will prove to be not up to scratch... some are of course, but most unlikely.
