nogin Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 have had my droppins tested and no canker or anything and noticed they have been there for a while. just one or two birds but enough to worry me get a crop swab tested that will tell you better.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 if they are hard yellow spots scrape one if sore red underneath get cannisten cream put in throat and it will clear promise
Guest Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 i also got swab test and ive been told theres no canker. but il get a another test to b sure
REDCHEQHEN Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 http://www.chevita.com/en/pigeons/symptoms/index.php you can check it out on the above (scroll down the page) yellow spots - canker whitish spots - salivary stones
chickadee Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 I would definately separate they ones from the rest of your birds just now just to be on the safe side, until you find out what it is.
les Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 it sounds like they have had some type of infection ,and got over it you get this a lot and those that have had this know it is best left alone ,it will go away eventually ,just keep a eye on the birds with it aslong as they look ok nothing to worry about ,[just had this told to me by a top pigeon vet after he looked at a bird of mine with the same thing ]i also had it in a pigeon that has flown barcalona this year, he had it 6 weeks before the race .[ the spots i am on about is in the back of the throat not on the sides.]
wilkins Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 could it be white not yellow, sometimes this happens after the bird has had a infection in the past
Wiley Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 if they are hard yellow spots scrape one if sore red underneath get cannisten cream put in throat and it will clear promise bad move because you can do more damage then good by scraping or rubbing those spots, which can cause bleeding ect,
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 you just scrape not cut its throat ;D ;D ;D
Guest IB Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 Agree with les, probable sign of a previous mild infection of some sort. Test came back negative for canker, if all else looks and feels OK, reckon nothing to worry about - and leave well alone.
Guest Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 thanks for advice. think il leave alone and just keep my eye out for any changes
