The new sensations are the de meyer birds.. they are serious upto 200 miles.. kevin head just sold his for £38000.. jason hulse raced them also winning the fed week in week out..

we tried 4 last year they bred 4 birds and these were very good and liked the terrain.. they held up against the van reets,, so 2010 will see around 10 young ones being raced,, so time will tell for sure,, but looking bright..

strain does not matter that much it is how and what you feed them after all noboady told the doo it was a sprinter

well i was told yesterday when asking about eyesign for sprint pigeons. the best theory on sprint birds is the feet theory it also works on all birds.

think you can get distance bloodlines to sprint depending on how you feed bit sprint based bloodlines i'm not so sure.me personally i've lost a lot of good birds at the distance that were sprint bloodlines because the race velocities were lower i.e longer on the wing than anticipated and i think my birds just didn't have the stamina required

Have you got any wayne???????  got a few myself looking forward to trying them on the South East route.

I have a few which i had direct of Bob Fenech back in 2003.  Yes they are good but it has taken me a while to find some good pigeons to go with them.  They do seem to be better at the shorter races but have raced most of them up to 400mls and the one cock flew Heilbronn this year and he is 75% Cooreman.  Finding the right cross was the hardest thing for us with them.

What did you cross with them,i have 2 gransons of "LUCKKER" cant think of the names of the other ones, will try 2 paired together and cross the others with my van reets and brasspennings.  nigel.

A very high percentage of top sprint fanciers would win out of turn with most of the strains mentioned on this thread, I’m convinced some fanciers would win even if they raced sparrows ;D.

Pigeons for some is a business, the difference between winning with newer strains over the older ones is simple, its more profitable!

So going back to the question re the best sprint pigeons, take a look at the older strains that represent more value for your money. If I had to choose one strain that’s stood the test of time (sprinting) and at the same time offered value for money it would have to be the Wildys.

I have three 2 cocks and a hen.  Cant remember off hand but think the 2 are a pair from Yelle or Jelle something like that and the other is a son of Haas i think

APPROPRIATE FEEDING FOR THE APPROPRIATE DISTANCE MIGHT HAVE SOMTHING TO DO WITH IT AFTER ALL STAMINA IS DERIVED FROM THE TYPE OF FEEDING YOU GIVE THE DOO

the man must be right about feeding van reets have  strong bricoux connections and they were reknowned distance pigeons. how many fanciers win out of the channel with sprinters and vice versa if the stock is good enough and the fancier knows what he is doing then the birds will come from any distance ! well thats my theory and i'm sticking to it'

i thought van reets had strong connections with grondelars and the marcellis went back to the bricoux hance why the marcellis are mostly reds and mealys . but your right most of the sprint birds go back to distance pigeons and you will find most of the distance pigeons go back to sprinters lol . when some of the belgium distance flyers look for a cross to bring in its normally a sprint pigeon and its not to make there distance pigeons faster its because they think sprint pigeons have developed a better homing ability to find home faster .
