hi boys and girls,never fed depurative to the birds,i am going to give it a try,if i wanted to make a home made version,low fat that i could hopper feed,without,to much or none,barley in it,what grains would i need.i dont want to pay the silly high prices my local corn merchants are charging.i want to feed my pigons well,without the weight been put on.thanks kind regards p dordin  :) :)

cant see  how your going to  achieve this mate,  as single grains are  just as  dear as mixed

You dont pay V.A.T on straight feeds but have to pay it on mixes. Unless you would be making very large quantities it would be easier to buy a depuritive mix other wise you will be buying and mixing 6 or more bags at a time. Only issue I see with feeding it in hoppers is that the birds will pick out the titbits and leave the rest and not get the balanced feed they need.

Why no barley you wont go wrong using that.
