cheese and mince

Does anybody out there give there bird cheese or cooked mince before a big race, I have heard a few old boys say this, dont know if they are winding me up?

have seen grated cheese been fed with corn on continent , but never heard of mince , but b12 is given to pigeons because of the lack of meat protein in the diet , i suppose in the wild odd insect and slugs and worms would be eaten , however dont think ill be rushing to feed either

i have heard from older members using cheese

but not heard of mince

The Guy who told me has won fed and combine averages, and 2nd national, he said he gave them mince for the fat and protein ???

Dont know Owen, he justv mention it also I head jock reid would give them little bits of cooked square sausage. When told I laughed but he swore this was tru. ;D

Does anyone know what part of the sheep the fat comes from?  I am assuming you don't just cut it off your average lamb chop.  So if eg I go to my butcher, what do I ask for?
