Hi JakJak,

Some nice looking birds Im just starting out have two pairs of Choc Meulemans/Van Den Bossche as Well as some Honeysuckle Janssens.

if you get the right Meulemans /Van Den Bosch you will have a very good base to start with best crossed in to a winning family.

i have Meulemans havent bread any winners but they will ive only started the racing game starting to get the hang of it cracking pigeons

I know the Meulemans originate from Janssens so will eventually cross back but in truth prob got them just to bring bit of colour to the loft!!LOL

but if they do well all the better.

chocolates tend to be breeeders of winners the blues pencils checkers will win they cross well but pure pretty useless from my experience , i also bought for the colour but as it was the chocolates i wanted i got rid   i had won with klack and busheart crosses one cock multiple prize winner he bred a few winners himself

hi jakjak i have some vdb mulemans,1 from higginson here are a couple of mine,dont think im hijacking your thread mate as im not,the birds look cracking mate and are a credit to you hope they breed you some of the goods.

Just missed out on a hen from Double cottage on elimar.

Though have bought a Cock hence need for a hen.

Who is Higginson?? he obviously breeds some nice ones!!

The muelmans cross fantastic with the old janssen strains,i had some through gerard schlepphorst in the late 90s,why people fail with them winning is they are more interested in there purity,adam if you really want these pigeons to breed top winners cross them with the old vos de byter red foxes or the van riel blood.The winning lines are locked up there somewere you just need to let it out by putting another related line into them.

they will be crossed with 2 kellens x van loon x vdb hens this year ,i would agree though that the van reets would go well with any  VDB/Muleman as a cross.
