SPDS collections, why have they stopped colllections from the Scottish Highlands???? Had a right headache trying to arrange colection down to Devon today they expect birds to be in boxes at least 2 days not good for young birds

We have now been told they will not collect from anywhere in Scotland  :(

I'm going to ring them again tomorrow to see if i can get any more information from them.

Apparantly all collections going to sit in there Glasgow main depot for 36 hours before they get taken to Leeds for 3rd party collections. Don't understand why?? surely they going to loose a lot of buisness from the Scottish fanciers

I don't think Scotland to Scotland is a problem.

It's the getting them down to leeds, apparently they are not doing their own trunking to leeds anymore.

I was also told today that the company who are going to do the trunking won't carry pigeons.  :(

Yeah Down to Leeds is the problem, Castle couriers didn't know until this morning. SPDS have picked up for birds from top end of Scotland today for me, at this rate they won't reach Leeds until thursday then at least another day down to me all the way in devon. 3 days in a box for babies NOT GOOD!!!

UK PIGEON COURIERS WERE IN SCOTLAND YESTERDAY (Monday) as we are most weeks. Just as we have done for the last 15 months, Direct Collections and Deliveries, Up to and as far as Dundee. Our prices are £40 for up to 6 Squeakers from the nest or 3 old birds, then £2 per extra bird. this is the price to anywhere in England or Wales, (others may be cheaper, but our prices reflect actual costings)

IF the Aberdeenshire Fanciers get their heads together. we could arrange a periodic Direct Collection or delivery service, providing there was enough viable collections/deliveries. Dave Thornton
