I have never seen them for sale, if you know anyone that has lavender the bushes die back at this time of the year and they are happy to get them pruned if the don't use them themselves

It keeps away some bugs and moths from the nests and lofts, it makes great nesting material and it smells lovely in the loft a lot better smelling than tobacco stalks

well usually i put nesting material in the microwave to kill any little buggers

i give about 20 to 30 seconds for straw  in a plastic bag  no longer  fire fire fire  ;D ;D ;D

 

i do it when the mrs goes out  ;D ;D ;D

My quick blast in the microwave is about killing off any livestock that could be on the nesting material. Years ago I kept canaries and because I was careless with nesting material, I caused all sorts of problems for myself.

In the past, I have used birch and hazel twigs for pigeons. They are just the job but they have to be clean. So as I say give them a quick blast in the mirowave.

Never heard of it keeping mice at bay but it does deter the moths
