catchthepigeon Posted December 25, 2009 Author Report Posted December 25, 2009 looks like they got there main foundation birds from uk so why not get birds of the uk lofts they started with, :) because the foundation birds from britain where mainly dark type busschaerts and used in developing the strain what a silly answer thats like saying why buy birds from belgium as we were the ones that sold them the majority of there birds someones actually put some effort in to developing this strain
fred smyth Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 because the foundation birds from britain where mainly dark type busschaerts and used in developing the strain what a silly answer thats like saying why buy birds from belgium as we were the ones that sold them the majority of there birds someones actually put some effort in to developing this strain yea and why would you bye birds from belgium 99% of them are crap , 397th out of 2000 birds yea grate result its a champ i dont think so , loads of better birds in uk and ireland would put belgium birds to shame ,its all just hype if you ask me this belgium stuff the sput out , :) happy new year
Brumby Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 flew gits, bonami royals, black diamonds in oz 40 year ago great at the distance must be well diluted by now
gangster Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 fred i must dissagree to a point. there are good genuine fanciers in belgium who get top results with little or no publicity these are the 1s who give there best and some do race superb anywere they go......same goes for the dutch guys ive been all over holland/belgium ive seen many lofts and birds.......

gangster Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 have you visited any lofts in australia and you have to remember the dutch birds are flying on a flat lanscape unlike our own im afraid not, and if they are good enough they will over come anything regardless of were they come from..

Effort in selling them. Gosh, Most studs don't race because the simple reality is that if you race, you must have winners. And is not in a prime location they wouldn't be winners. So how can the develope a bird, mar it's metle or abilities if not racing it :-/
fred smyth Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 fred i must dissagree to a point. there are good genuine fanciers in belgium who get top results with little or no publicity these are the 1s who give there best and some do race superb anywere they go......same goes for the dutch guys ive been all over holland/belgium ive seen many lofts and birds....... i no what your saying gangster, there are lots of good birds over there but most of the stuff they ship out is not as good as the uk and irish birds ,look at ron Williamson now if he lived over there he would be worth 100 million, theres too much hype and too many cashing in on it,
gangster Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 correct but go look were ronnies birds originate....belgium... the biggest n most important point is this most flyers own good birds but most dont even know it they are too busy chasing instant success and throw money away when they already had the right stuff all the time under there noses....
leighton1984 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 You are right mick they are some top flyers that will never hit the headlines but they only sent small numbers but they do not have websites to sell there birds as they are racing men. i have looked at lots of results and when you look at some flyer that sent 50 plus birds and and they have one in the top 10 when little old man that sends 5-6 takes 2 5 6 8 9 every week. you have to look at the results as they tell all not the hype that is in the papers. look for the little flyer that wins lots with small team in a big club in a strong area.
BLACK W F Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 yes what Mick says is very true as when in holland Mick took us to an old friend witha very small team but very big results
gangster Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 yes what Mick says is very true as when in holland Mick took us to an old friend witha very small team but very big results i became friends with henk after many phone calls as he speaks little english and was not interested in selling any birds, alan and chris both visited with me and we were all gifted birds as unfortunatley henk is very ill and 2 weeks ago his wife ciska passed away and all the remaining birds are gone, they treated me as 1 of there own sons on my many visits 2/3 times a year...in fact i won my 1st race with there birds, henk is a ledgend in the kring nijmegen and many flyers owe there performances to henks birds......my advice is look and you will find then dont let the knockers put you off your quest....
BLACK W F Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 yes as you say mick henk and his wife treated us very well while they where suffering from ill health the birds where first class and sure the ones we brought back will up hold the good name of henk
