john@formula 1 lofts Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Ron Williamson M&D Evans Jim Biss But think Mark Gilbert and Brain Sheppard have/did bring the sport on in leaps and bounds by winning the internationals. and also Brain Long for his service to the sport. John
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 gd call john , i think people forget how much brian done for this sport and how he was ahead of his time really and he was also fantastic at sprint racing . also think your right about brian sheppard and mark gilbert . and i think in twenty years time when this question gets asked alot will put mark gilbert then lol
bibendium Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 1) G Macaloney&sons 2) The late Jim Paterson of Ayrshire 3) J Hodgson Annan. Just 3 of many great fanciers in Scotland.
walterbmasson Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 not very good memories on this post you mention j.biss a few times i think i have a good memory regarding good fanciers in past and not a mention of the fear brothers there birds is responsible for a lot mentioned on this post
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 Hall of Fame for me would include Dr Anderson - not only was he a top fancier but his name is steeped into the history of long distance racing in Scotland. Eddie Newcombe - brought a new level to long distance racing in Scotland and could be said the UK John Kirkpatrick - top fancier but though his death was a long time ago his name and strain? lives on long in the pigeon sport. cheers Gareth
